Quote of the day !

'The best way to keep your word is to never give it'

I liked this quote .. for its play with words .. 'keep' and 'give' your word .. thought I will just post it and see what all you people think about it ..

But hey, dont get me wrong, this does not mean that I agree with the quote ... according to me, that would just be an escape ... its like saying if you dont want to run down by a car, dont walk on road ... In fact, I am not even sure if its technically sound .. 'Not giving' can not be the best way of 'keeping' ... I mean come on.. that is so gay ..

anyway .. so NO, I dont agree with it .. but I liked the way its designed !

Sad story of life !!

A piece from a typical conversation between two bachelors (say A and B) in US who've met after a long long time :

A : Whassup dude ?
B : Hey man ! Whats up ?
A : nothing man .. u tell me !
B : oh .. just same old man ... life goes on .. whats new on your side ?
A : dude .. we are in US... nothing new happens here man ! Its the same life everyday !
B : I know ! We are meeting after what ? 6 months ?
A: must be ! in fact, more than that ! 8 months I guess ..
B : come on dude .. kuchh to naya hua hoga na yaar tere life mein ..
A : well, let see .. nayaaaa...... nayaaaa .. haan well I dunno if this counts but I got a speeding ticket the other day ... I was on 80 in 65 zone ...
B : poor you ... anyway, shaadi waadi ke kya haal hai ?
A : Abe, itni jaldi kahan .. I am sure you are ahead in line !!
B : I think the next India trip will be for marriage ... I have shortlisted a few girls .. lets see how it goes ... I am telling you ... learn from me and start looking for girls early man ! Its become so
tough these days !
A : yeah dude .. I know ! I am gonna start soon as well !! :)
B : aur bol ...
A : aur bas kuchh nahi yaar .. chal raha hai !

and this goes on ... someone just pops in some incident from somewhere and you talk about it for 10 minutes and then the same lines ' aur bol' - ' aur kuchh nahi yaar - same old ' keep repeating ...

Its strange but if you decide to tap telephone lines in US .. this is what you will hear between two bachelor guys most of the times even on phone ... somehow in US, there are very less topics to talk about ... ghoom phir ke, you come back to the same topics as if there is nothing else to talk about ...

I think here are the common topics for discussion in the order of precedence (commonality)

1. Marriage & seeing girls
2. India trips - past & future
3. Who (friends) recently got married, who broke up with his'her gf/bf, whos where (geographically) now ...
4. Work related stuff
5. Weather
6. Girlfriends - how to get one !! :) ..
7. Friday nights, Weekends & monday blues
8. Movies - recently seen movies & reviews
9. Cellphone plan, carrier or any other deals found / shopping
10. gas prices, house prices, car prices - how everything is going up, taxes etc ...

Words, language, emotions might change but the topics overall remain the same !! Believe it or not ... its true ... sad but true !
